GIB stopping in Auckland

Joints taped, coated and sanded to the level of finish your paint and lighting need.

5.018 Google reviews
Open-plan room part way through GIB stopping, every joint taped and coated and the screw heads filled, ready for the next coat

Stopping is the part of the job you only notice when it is done badly. Low sun through a window or a row of downlights will pick out every joint that was rushed.

We tape, coat and sand to the finish level the room calls for, and we check our own work under a raking light before we call it ready for paint. For dark colours, gloss finishes or rooms with critical lighting we recommend a Level 5 skim over the whole surface.

What we do

  • Level 4 finish for most homes
  • Level 5 skim finish for critical lighting, dark or gloss paint
  • Square-stopped and coved ceilings
  • Crack, hole and joint repairs

The paint we finish with

When we paint the walls we have lined, stopped or plastered, it is with Resene or Dulux, so the finish is as good as the surface under it.

  • Resene, the paint the professionals use
  • Dulux
  • Reader's Digest Trusted Brand winner for paints, 2012 to 2023, voted by New Zealanders

Resene, voted New Zealand's most trusted paint brand every year from 2012 to 2023
